Hydration Made Easy

Most of us know that we are primarily made up of water. And we also know that the world is about 75% water. So with these reminders all around us, let’s make sure that we are consuming enough water every day- no matter what! This may seem like a ‘no brainer’ to many who already partake. If you do, kudos; you know that water is crucial for the body to work properly. In fact, by the time you sense thirst, you are probably dehydrated! Let’s also hope that everyone knows that we humans can only last about 3 days without it. Yikes, right? So make sure you always have some on board.

Now, for those of you who may not like water or think you’ll pee like a racehorse if you consume 1 gallon per day, you can relax. You won’t pee all that much as your body absorbs what it needs. The good news is that you don’t have to consume all of it by drinking it. If you were to, say, eat a plant-based diet, you’d get all that you need from the fruits (and veggies to a lesser extent). How great is that to get your hyrdration through food? It takes your mind off of counting out 8 glasses, right?

Luckily for all of us, summer is just around the corner and so is all that great fruit that comes with it. Think melons! Go out and indulge in the biggest fruit salad you can create. It’s just the right type of ‘lube job’ your cells need. And don’t forget to drink up to at least 8 glasses of water per day on a regular basis. And obviously more if you’re an athlete. If you can, get a hold of the highest alkaline water around and make sure you always keep it within arms reach. Make it a habit to drink it and it becomes second nature.
